目前有人在ATi发布的Hotfix催化剂驱动程序当中找到了R499图形芯片的身影。在催化剂hotfix的某文档当中有以下字段:

针对这个发现,有人认为这是Xeons的PC驱动程序代码,也有人认为R499图形芯片支持Shader Model 3.0,因为在inf文件的驱动程序缺省设置当中,R499的几何举证(Geometry Instacing)默认打开,这是SM3.0硬件的特征,在所有的SM2.x图形芯片当中,几何举证默认关闭。另外,R499的自适应抗锯齿功能默认也是打开,在其它R4xx硬件上这个功能默认是关闭。
R499究竟是何方神圣,看来要等ATi官方给出答案了。
